Baahahaha!
So, a few days after we learned of psycho-bitch Hillary's plans to visit Afghanistan, it appears another event is just slightly displacing her plans.
UPDATE: "BG" over at Cold Fury posted the following, and I just wanted to say: Ditto.
"CIC served chow to enlisted ranks and junior officers in the middle of stinkin' Bagdhad! Dust off a copy of Henry V, rent "Band of Brothers" again, think back to a high school coach who asked you to do what you didn't believe you could. Moments of inspiration and leadership are rare. GWB's true giving of thanks was more than a gesture. There are sons and brothers on posts and at sea around the globe who were touched by this leader yesterday. Forget the politics for a minute. It was a simple and good thing to do."
UPDATE (again): Some further reflection. Not only was this brilliant politics; it gives the troops a boost and sends the message that the situation in Iraq is anything but out of control if the President himself goes there with minimal security, but it also serves to illustrate just want kind of man Bush is.
I mean look at the guy. His crying, and not the usual crocodile tears one expects from a politician. No, he sheds tears because he feels so strongly for the men and women of the military that he's willing to do anything for them, whether it be flying into a war zone and landing on a runway where planes have been fired on, or catching the "heart attack" line in a tailhook landing on a carrier.
This is the kind of man I want running the country, in time of peace or war. A man with character, damnit. A man who isn't afraid to go to the front lines for the troops, instead of fighting a war from Washington with one hand tied around his balls.
I wonder what burns the lefties more; the fact that the dumb cowboy fighter pilot took them down another rung, or the fact that he did it simply by being "himself", and everyone with half a clue can see that.
